crU has been around for almost 3 years and it survived multiple lean times due to inactivity. Some of the loyal crU players/founders like Streaker, Yonkey, and Dawg had the conviction to keep the clan going and ensured that it was always a group of mature and sensible people having fun playing this game.
crU never lacked talent in terms of individual player skills, and they would often finish regular season in the open leagues undefeated but would jinx out in first or second round of play off match due to lack of teamwork and commitment from all 4 players. At one point they even merged into another clan Fragweiser which was also suffering from inactivity but the venture did not work out and crU was re-formed. Even though their tracker showed 20+ players, activity and commitment issues kept haunting the team on the competitive grounds.
Fragweiser (sponsored by IcoNic) on the other hand were facing similar activity issues and they went on to join hands with crU bringing in experienced commited players like Scorpian, Peek, and Avenger into the team. From then on crU never looked back, imposing scrims over pubs and imposing teamwork over individual rambos pissed multiple people at the beginging that either left the clan or were weeded out. However, this ensured that crU only became stronger and over the course of time they also picked up good players like Zoink and violenze. crU made it to the TWL-I finals of the very first season they played after it which they finished as runners up.
TWL-I 2009 Winter League was the second consecutive league in which crU made it to the finals. This season was flawless in terms that crU did not loose a single match or set in regular season as well as in playoffs and went on to win the TWL-I finals against IceNine which was the only other undefeated team till then. Congratulations Team crU for becoming TWL-I Champions. It was well deserved!
Even though AA has been on a downfall, there are many new exciting teams like gL, QMOD, uNk that are showing potential to become better by scrimming on a consistent basis. Also there are stronger established teams like ni, si, Lc, med, ^A that should make the current season of XPL very interesting.
crU would also like to welcome financial who has been part of the team for past one month to the competitive scene, and welcome the most recent recruit ichi to the team.
